On December 30, 2022, Taryn Morris announced her commitment to play hockey with the Adrian College Bulldogs starting in the 2023-24 season.
Born and raised in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Taryn Morris has played as a Shark for 12 years, first joining the BWHA’s U7-Fundamentals program in 2011. Taryn has been a member of our Jr. Sharks for the past two seasons and is a grade 12 honours student at Eastview Secondary School in Barrie where she will graduate in June, 2023.
Adrian College is a private liberal arts college attended by just under 2,000 students. The school is located in Adrian, Michigan, which is 100 km southwest of Detroit. The Bulldogs women’s hockey program is an ACHA Division 1 (American Collegiate Hockey Association) team that plays in the Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA). The Bulldogs play regular season games against ACHA teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Illinois.
Taryn is excited to join the Bulldogs, noting “They have an amazing hockey team who has won playoffs 4 times in the past 5 years.” Morris is also excited by the Arrington Ice Arena which is home to the College’s 7 varsity and club hockey teams. “The hockey arena is very unique and has open windows in the upstairs restaurant looking down at the ice for fans, so it’s a very fun atmosphere.”
Taryn Morris plans to study in the Exercise Science / Bachelor of Science program at Adrian, and she’s excited to call the new campus home. “The sports and athletic facilities are amazing and the classroom sizes are smaller compared to most schools, so it’s easier to learn in. It’s a school with a very high population of student athletes so lots of people you meet will be on a sports team.”
