Following their exciting Best 3 of 5 U22AA OWHL playoff series win over the Cambridge Jr. Rivulettes, the Barrie Jr. Sharks punched their ticket to the 2025 - 2026 U22AA Elite OWHL League Championship weekend.  The Jr. Sharks entering the weekend as the 8th seeded team and returning 2024 - 2025 Bronze medalists, but had a heavy round robin schedule facing the #1, #4 and #5 seeded teams, in their quest for another League Championship medal.

In Game #1 of the OWHL League Championship round robin series, the Jr. Sharks took on the #1 seeded Durham West Jr. Lightning.  The Jr. Sharks played a strong game, holding the Jr. Lightning scoreless in 1st and 3rd periods, but gave up 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd period, ending with a 3-0 loss for the Jr. Sharks.  In Game #2, the Jr. Sharks faced the #4 Nepean Jr. Wildcats and played well, skating away with well earned 3 -1 win.  Needing a win to progress to another Bronze medal game, the Jr. Sharks entered the 3 game of the round robin, facing the #5 seeded Stoney Creek Jr. Sabres.  The game was highly contested, but the Jr. Sharks were able to earn a 2-1 win and secured their place in a second consecutive OWHL League Bronze medal game.

The Bronze medal game saw the Jr. Sharks, face the #6 seeded Burlington Jr. Baracudas.  The game had great defense and goaltending, along with punch - counter punch scoring, until the Jr. Sharks broke it open in the 3rd period, ending in a 6 - 2 win and a "Back to Back" U22AA Elite OWHL League Championship Bronze medal.  The Bronze medals in 24/25 and 25/26 follow the Jr. Sharks first every Bronze medal finish at the OWHA Provincial championships in 23/24.

The 2025 - 2026 OWHA Provincial Championships will take place from April 9th through April 13th, at Iceland Arena in Mississauga, ON (https://owha.on.ca/content/provincials)
