Barrie Jr. Sharks Supporting Project Shoebox
This holiday season, our Barrie Jr. Sharks are supporting The Shoebox Project - and we're asking all Sharks teams for help!
The Shoebox Project collects standard-sized, decorated shoeboxes filled with gifts and essentials and distributes these gifts to local women’s shelters and community agencies serving women impacted by homelessness.
How Individuals Can Help:
- Select your Shoebox & wrap if necessary.
- Fill your Shoebox with essentials and small gifts - $50 is a suggested target amount.
- Write a message of inspiration or support.
- Drop it off at the Barrie Jr. Sharks vs. Durham West Jr. Lightning game at 4:30pm on Saturday, December 3 at the East Bayfield Community Centre.

How Your Team Can Help:
- Decide how many shoeboxes your team can build. Boxes should contain roughly $50 of gifts and essentials.
- Collect small gifts and essentials from teammates for your box. Ideas include gift cards (small denomination, $10-15 suggested), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, make-up, socks, chocolate, candy, and other essentials and/or treats.
- Build your shoeboxes, and wrap them up (but not sealed - wrap top and bottom separately). Don’t forget to include a note of support or inspiration!
- Bring your Shoeboxes to the Barrie Jr. Sharks vs. Durham West Jr. Lightning game at 4:30pm on Saturday, December 3 at the East Bayfield Community Centre.
