On February 14, 2023, Sydney White announced her commitment to play hockey with the Adrian College Bulldogs starting in the 2023-24 season.
Raised in Barrie, Ontario, Syd White has played as a Shark for 12 seasons, first starting with our Fundamentals program in 2001. Syd has been a member of our Jr. Sharks for the past two seasons and is a grade 12 honours student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie where she will graduate in June, 2023.
Adrian College is a private liberal arts college attended by just under 2,000 students. The school is located in Adrian, Michigan, which is 100 km southwest of Detroit. The Bulldogs women’s hockey program is an ACHA Division 1 (American Collegiate Hockey Association) team that plays in the Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA). The Bulldogs play regular season games against ACHA teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Illinois.
Sydney is excited to attend Adrian College join the Bulldogs program which has seen much success in recent years. “Coach Carter Clarke is very positive, super friendly and runs a very professional program,” said Sydney White. “The team has had lots of success and I am excited to be able to contribute next year.” With three former Barrie Jr. Sharks on this season’s roster, and current teammates Taryn Morris and Kali Foerster also committing to the team for next season, White will see plenty of familiar faces in the Bulldogs dressing room.
Sydney White plans to study Exercise Science, majoring in the Physical Education Teacher Certification option. “Adrian has a smaller campus and the staff and students are very friendly and kind, said White. “The school promotes dual sport athletes, and I am excited for the opportunity to play hockey and golf. Most students attending Adrian play a sport and I am excited to be a part of the athletic community there.” Adrian College's golf program is an NCAA Division III team that competes in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association
